Meeting of Headquarters on preparation for ХХI Summer Deaflympics in Taipei (Taiwan)

In a hall of board of the Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation Headquarters meeting under the control over maintenance of preparation of sports national teams of Russia for XXI Summer Deaflympics which will take place from 05 September till 16 September 2009 in Taipei (Taiwan) has taken place.

On Deaflympics participation about 3000 athletes more than from 85 countries of the world are expected. In 20 sports 182 complete sets of medals will be played. Russian deaf athletes, in number of 220 people, will take part in competitions by 17 sports: badminton, basketball (men), free wrestling, Greek-Roman wrestling, bowling, cycling, volleyball (men and women), beach volleyball (men and women), judo, karate, taekwondo, athletics, table tennis, swimming, shooting, orienteering, football (men and women).

Opening work of the Headquarters, the deputy minister of sports, tourism and youth policy of Russian Federation Mr. Gennady Aleshin has noted: “Now in the Ministry all necessary decisions of the Minister of preparation of sports national teams of Russia for XXI Summer Deaflympics are prepared by the order of the minister, in particular, the Headquarters structure is confirmed, together with President of the Russian Committee of Deaf Sports and me plan on preparation of sports national teams of Russia, the general principles, criteria of formation of sport national team of Russia for participation in XXI Summer Deaflympics are confirmed, and also all financial questions are solved”.

As president Russian Committee of Deaf Sports Mr. Valery Rukhledev opinion not to lose in the lead positions, following basic problems demand the immediate decision:
- Opening of branches of kinds of sports for deaf athletes at sports schools;
- Working out of modern system of preparation and improvement of professional skill of the coaches working with deaf athletes;
- Working out of programs by sports kinds on work with Persons with Disabilities, acceptance of the legal documents defining is standard-legal work of experts and coaches, working with athletes with disabilities;
- Working out of the scientifically-proved plans of preparation of athletes, target complex programs of preparation of national teams of the country on Deaflympic sports.

Headquarters Members have confirmed:
- The plan of the final stage of preparation of national teams of Russia for XХI Summer Deaflympics 2009;
- The schedule of departures from Moscow in Taipei and an arrival from Taipei to Moscow sports national teams of Russia;
- Quantitative structure of the Russian delegation leaving for ХХI Summer Deaflympics 2009 in Taipei (Taiwan);
- The plan it is information-propaganda work connected with preparation and performances of the Russian athletes in XХI Summer Deaflympics 2009;
- A plan of measures of medical and medical and biologic maintenance of members of sport national teams of Russia, including profound medical inspection and doping control.

Headquarters Members have charged:
- To Russian Committee of Deaf Sports to prepare the plan-scenario of solemn wires Russian National Deaf Team and its meetings in Moscow;
- To Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation to prepare for the personnel of teams and athletes necessary materials under actual requirements Code of WADA and to the prevention of the use of the forbidden means and methods in sports;
 - To the centre of sports preparation to take measures on maintenance for Russian National Deaf Teams sport stock and the equipment;
- To Russian Committee of Deaf Sports to prepare joint with the Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation the Appeal to the all-Russian Sports Federations about maintenance game and special equipment for members of Russian National Deaf Team.
