1st World Deaf Snowboard Championships started

On February 09, 2013 in Shukolovo (Moscow Region) in the territory "Leonid Tyagachev's Alpine skiing club" took place Opening ceremony of 1st World Deaf Snowboard Championships. 
The deputy Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Mr. Sergey Shelpakov read the greeting for participants and guests of competitions on behalf of Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Mr. Vitaly Mutko.

The World Deaf Snowboard Championships is one of the largest sports competitions in 2013.  Athletes participate in the Championships from seven countries:  Austria, Norway, Finland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Japan and Russia.

As a part of a Russian team – 26 people, including 16 athletes, and also coaches.  Russian national team is presented by athletes from Moscow (7 persons), St. Petersburg (5 persons), Novosibirsk (3 persons) and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area (1 person).

The general management of the organization and holding competitions carry out the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian Sports Federation of Deaf Sports and the Ministry of physical culture, sports, tourism and work with youth of the Moscow Region.
